In 2019, two racial justice leaders among Friends, Vanessa Julye and Lucy Duncan, shared a conversation that ultimately gave rise to the Quaker Coalition for Uprooting Racism and the inaugural cohort of Quakers Uprooting Racism in 2021-2022.
Now, that same coalition brings together six Quaker organizations, including FCNL, who are working together to accelerate the movement for and capacity to create racial justice among (and beyond) Friends through the creation of the 2024 Quakers Uprooting Racism community of practice cohort—racial justice changemakers learning and experimenting with actions together.
