DURHAM, N.C. (Sept. 20, 2025) — Southern Coalition for Social Justice (SCSJ) stands united with our partners in urging the rejection of new waste incinerator projects in Miami-Dade County. Historically, marginalized communities have borne the brunt of toxic waste facilities, suffering from severe health impacts and environmental destruction.
By opposing these projects, we are not only advocating for cleaner air and healthier neighborhoods but also honoring the legacy of resistance against environmental racism. Our collective power and community organizing can drive the shift toward innovative and sustainable waste management solutions that protect all residents and support the vital restoration of the Everglades.
